Where We Serve

The culture of Education and Hope is best captured in our after school program.  In addition to providing daily academic reinforcement to 86 students, we provide a refuge and personal support to children living extremely difficult lives.  The after school program provides a clean and spacious work environment for children to study with tutors and complete their homework.  Here they have access to important resources such as reference materials, books to read, art supplies, computers and the internet. Many of the students who receive scholarships are challenged by learning disabilities or special needs. The one-on-one attention and academic reinforcement provided by the tutors at the after school program is crucial to the success of each child who attends.

Our family atmosphere welcomes each student as they eat a hot, nutritious lunch upon their arrival at 1 pm.  As many of the children do not have the luxury of running water in their homes they are offered the opportunity to shower after their homework is completed.  During the afternoon, students work in small groups with tutors and have the option to participate in English and computer classes.  After a snack at 4 pm and a wrap up of the academic instruction, they head home at 5 pm.
