Education and Hope is a small, non-profit education foundation based in the western highlands of Guatemala. The project was founded by, and continues to be directed by Julie Coyne. Education and Hope aims to increase access to education among impoverished children and young adults in this area by providing them with monthly scholarships, as well as by offering reinforcement in the form of tutoring after school.
The program is comprised of two main components: scholarships that enable children to attend privately-run schools in the city of Quetzaltenango, and an after school tutoring program for those in need of extra help.
